A form of high intensity interval training, CrossFit is a strength and conditioning workout that is made up of functional movement performed at a high intensity level.
These movements are actions that you perform in your day-to-day life, like squatting, pulling, pushing etc. Many workouts feature variations of squats, push-ups, and weight lifting that last for predetermined amounts of time to help build muscles. This varies from a traditional workout that may tell you how many reps to do over any period of time.
CrossFit Journal notes that the workouts are so effective because of their emphasis on the elements of load, distance and speed, which help participants develop high levels of power. The workout may utilize different equipment to accomplish this, including kettle bells, rowers and bikes, medicine balls, speed ropes, rings and plyo boxes.

Now that you know what CrossFit is all about, let us tell you a bit about CrossFit Kaali. CrossFit Kaali got its name from the Indian Goddess Kaali Maa who is the epitome of power and strength. We at CFK believe that every person coming to the box, committing to their health and fitness is an athlete in some way or the other and it is our responsibility to act as a facilitator in their fitness journey. We believe in generating a lifelong love for CrossFit amongst our athletes.
We are located in Versova, and we offer both in-person and offline video CrossFit sessions. We also have an in-house nutritionist to help you embrace a better diet.
Nishant Rout is a passionate CrossFit athlete and trainer. He has been coaching for over 5 years now, and has been in competitive sports since school. He was a professional tennis player who found his true calling, CrossFit, as he says CrossFit is the only place where one can be a swimmer, gymnast, an Olympic weightlifter, a marathoner and much more all at once. He has also done Anatomy, Spot the Flaw, Scaling, and Running Certifications to keep himself updated and to understand how to coach effectively and efficiently. He is a Certified CrossFit Level 2 Trainer from Reebok CrossFit One, Boston.
Jeremy Ferreira is a versatile individual with expertise in swimming, martial arts, amateur music, culinary arts, and bartending. He is also the Head Coach at CrossFit Kaali since 3 years. He demonstrates extensive knowledge and proficiency in CrossFit training.
Jay Singh is a dedicated CrossFit coach for over 3 years with a deep passion for Yoga as well. He is the Head Coach at Kaali FitBox. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role.
Rupali Gupta is a Sports Management graduate who excels at organizing sporting events and teaching animal flow. Rupali embarked on her CrossFit journey 1.5 years ago with CFK and is thrilled to now be a part of the coaching team. Rupali is the Assistant Coach at CrossFit Kaali.
We all know how exhausting a workout can be. At Kaali Cafe, located in our CrossFit Box, you can choose to replenish some of your essential electrolytes and minerals to offset the drain on your body after a workout.
